I slowly blinked my eyes open. The pain I felt was normal. Like normal pain, not sharp and definately not like I was going to die any time soon.
I raised my head up and turned back. I felt I had been dreaming all these time. Maybe I fell asleep and had a really nice dream of Javier coming from work and helping me out. It can only happen in an alternate universe and a dream.
“We’re in an alternate universe.”
I mummered watching Javier sleep not so comfortably. I felt really bad. He’s been sleeping on the couch for two days now and I still made him sleep on the edge of the bed. His neck would hurt like hell when he wakes up.
Sighing, I cocked my head to the side enjoying the view. I think he was made in a lab or something, everything about him is so great. I can’t help but stay glued. The way his face cringes. I just love him. I considered going back to resting on his laps but decided against it. I needed to clean up to avoid another incident.
I rushed to the bathroom, did my business and walked out.
I held my chest jumping slightly.
“Umm.. yeah. I’m sorry for bothering you at the umm…. I’m sorry.”
I stuttered unable to form a coherent word.
He twisted his neck, my heart lurched.
“You can take the bed this night. It’s no problem. I’ll take the sofa, I wouldn’t want your neck to get worse.”
“It’s fine. I’ll take it.”
“I insist, I can sleep on the sofa.”
I chuckled nervously.
He didn’t respond, he simply got up and walked towards me.
“You’re in no condition to be sleeping on sofas, I’ll be fine Leah.”
He mumbled close to me, too close. Once again, I lost focus thinking about the way my name rolled off his sweet tongue. His sweet, sweet, tongue. My mind went back to the times he’s kissed me with….
I cautioned nearly smacking myself.
Javier asked confused.
“No, I wasn’t telling you to shut up. Definately not. I was talking to umm….myself.”
He must think I am a crazy person, talking to myself. I shook my head walking away before things get worse. By that I mean before I continuously say crazy things.
He held my hand abruptly preventing me from moving.
“Have you had anything to eat?”
He asked raking his hands through his hair. He’s nervous. Why does he care if I’ve eaten or not.
“No, I haven’t. I usually don’t eat when I’m…”
I blushed in embarrassment and looked away.
He responded and I bet he’s smirking. When I told back, he wasn’t. There was only a genuine smile on his face. Javier smiles but this one is for me and that’s a sincere first.
“Do you want me to get the maids to prepare something?”
“Umm, I don’t want to stress them plus I might not even eat it in the end.”
“We’ll see about that. I’ll tell to prepare…”
“Anything light. I won’t eat much. Thank you Javier.”
He nodded and moved away. I don’t know if it’s terrible of me to celebrate now, I want to so badly. He’s being so fucking nice. Remember when I said we’re in an alternate universe, that might be true. I sat on the bed and muttered a prayer. whatever this is, it should last. Even if it’s just for today, just for today.
About twenty minutes later, Javier came back to the room holding a plate filled with pancakes and maple syrup. I still can’t tell how he knew exactly what I was craving but he did.
He stood in front of me, I got up from the bed seating straight up. He took his seat close to me placing the plate on a nearby stool.
He asks. I lost focus by now, I was too mesmerized by the man in front of me. My husband. Fake but still my husband.
I managed to blurt out. I reached out to grab a bite but he carefully moved my hands away.
“I’ll do it.”
He knocked the air out of my lungs with his statement. I took a deep breath and watched his Javier Thompson fed me.
